Project overview
FilterlessCo is a global content creation agency working across music, fashion, entertainment, lifestyle and live event media.
The website needed to reflect that visual and cultural energy through a more polished digital experience, while still being practical to manage and scalable for content-led growth. It had to showcase work in a way that felt dynamic, modern and aligned with the agency’s creative identity.
I rebuilt the platform from the ground up using a custom WordPress theme based on Figma mockups, delivering a responsive website with tailored content structures and an interactive gallery designed to highlight the agency’s visual work more effectively. This kind of work is most closely aligned with custom WordPress development, ongoing support and technical SEO foundations.
The challenge
Creative agency websites need to do more than explain services. They have to present work in a way that feels curated, energetic and visually confident. The challenge here was balancing strong visual presentation with maintainable WordPress architecture and responsive performance.
The site needed to reflect the agency’s visual identity and creative range.
The experience had to stay polished across screen sizes and devices.
Different content types needed structured fields and clear organisation.
The gallery needed to feel dynamic and engaging rather than static.
What was delivered
I rebuilt the FilterlessCo website from scratch based on their Figma mockups, using a bespoke WordPress theme built on the Underscores.me starter boilerplate. The work focused on combining strong front-end presentation with a more structured and maintainable WordPress setup.
Delivered a bespoke theme tailored to the agency’s design direction and content needs.
Translated mockups into a responsive and polished front-end experience.
Built the site to maintain visual quality across desktop and mobile devices.
Structured different content areas to support more flexible site management.
Implemented a dynamic visual gallery powered by Isotope.js.
The final build supported both immediate presentation and future content growth.
Core functionality included
A bespoke build tailored to the agency’s branding and visual goals.
The design was implemented to stay visually strong across devices.
Structured content types made the site easier to manage and expand.
Each post type could be extended with its own tailored content fields.
Work and visual content are presented in a more engaging and dynamic layout.
The site highlights visual work in a way that better matches the agency’s industry.
The platform is ready to support future additions without major restructuring.
The use of Underscores.me created a cleaner technical base than an off-the-shelf theme.
Key architecture decisions
One of the key decisions was avoiding a generic theme in favour of a bespoke WordPress build. That gave the project more control over layout, responsiveness and content structure, which was especially important for a visually driven agency website.
The interactive gallery was also treated as a core part of the experience rather than an add-on, helping the site function more like a creative portfolio platform than a standard informational website.
A custom build created more freedom and consistency than a prebuilt template.
Post types and fields were tailored to the agency’s publishing needs.
The interactive visual layer was central to how the work is explored.
The site was built to support future work, content and agency growth more easily.
Results and outcomes
The result was a more visually compelling and technically structured website that better reflected FilterlessCo’s creative identity. The platform improved how the agency’s work was presented online and created a stronger foundation for future publishing and brand growth.
The site now better matches the visual confidence of the agency’s work.
The interactive gallery makes it easier and more enjoyable to browse content.
The design holds up more effectively across devices and screen sizes.
Custom post types and fields support a more organised publishing workflow.
The site is easier to extend than a generic theme-led build.
The success of the rebuild led to an ongoing part-time contract role with the client.
Technology used
The website was built with a bespoke WordPress theme based on Underscores.me, Figma-led responsive front-end implementation, custom post types and fields, and an interactive Isotope.js gallery for visual content presentation.
This work is especially relevant to custom WordPress development, support and maintenance and technical SEO foundations for content-led creative businesses.
Next steps
This project shows how a custom WordPress build can give a creative business more control over both presentation and content structure. For agencies and visually driven brands, that balance is often what separates a generic site from one that actually supports the brand properly.
If you need a bespoke WordPress theme, creative portfolio website or structured content platform with interactive front-end behaviour, the most relevant starting points are usually custom WordPress development, support and maintenance and technical SEO foundations.
